Calling all ComSoc Branch Chapters! Here’s your opportunity to bring together student members to learn more about emerging technologies, leadership training, soft skills development, and industry engagement.
ComSoc Student Branch Chapters can propose Student Leadership Tech Leadership conferences local to their region. Successful proposals will receive funding based on the event's scale, geographic location, and unique offerings up to US$2,500 per location.

Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible Hosts: IEEE ComSoc Student Branch Chapters
- Event Banner: The event title should include "IEEE ComSoc Student Leadership Conference" followed by the name of the organizing entity (e.g., IEEE ComSoc Student Leadership Conference at [Name of Chapter/Region]).
Event Elements
The event should combine the following core elements:
- Train: Workshops on member soft skills, resume crafting, and interview preparation.
- Tech: Sessions or Panel Discussions on emerging technologies.
- Lead: Training events for Chapter Chairs to discuss Young Professional (YP) and other Student engagement opportunities.
- Engage: Sessions by industry experts on career transition and leadership in ComSoc.
- Unique: Organizers can propose a unique element such as a contest or collaboration with other IEEE affinity groups or societies.
Note: To be eligible for funding, the Train, Tech, and Engage elements must be included. The Unique element is optional.
Proposal Submission Requirements
To apply for funding, submit your application with the following information:
- Lead Organizers: Names and contact details of at least two lead organizers.
- Event Elements: Selection of the event elements you wish to include (Tech, Train, Lead, Engage, Unique).
- Speakers/Session Preferences: Suggested speakers or topics for each event element.
- Target Audience: Estimated number of attendees and their membership type.
- Event Goals (250 words): Define the specific goals you aim to achieve through the event.
- Budget Allocation: If requesting funds, include a detailed budget chart.
- Unique Element (250 words): Describe the unique element you’re offering (if applicable).
- Additional Support: Indicate any extra support needed from IEEE ComSoc beyond speakers or industry professionals.
- Branding Commitment: Acknowledge your willingness to conform to ComSoc’s branding guidelines and event structure.

Budget Guidelines
To apply for financial support from IEEE ComSoc, the proposal must include a budget breakdown. The minimum budget allocated for a particular activity is US$500 and the maximum budget will be US$2,500.

Event Branding
- Follow IEEE ComSoc branding guidelines for all promotional material.
- The ComSoc MSB will provide templates if your proposal is accepted.
Code of Conduct
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and harassment-free environment during the event.
- Adhere to professional behavior, avoiding insults, jokes of a sexist, racist, or exclusionary nature.
- Any form of harassment should be immediately reported to the nearest IEEE contact.
Reporting & Evaluation
- Event organizers must submit a detailed report at the end of the event, including participant feedback, outcomes, and key learnings.
- The report is due by 30 November to stud-leadership@comsoc.org.
- Funds Reimbursement/Claims to be completed by 10 December 2025.

Yes, collaborations with other IEEE societies or affinity groups are encouraged, especially under the Unique event element.What are the branding requirements for the event?
