Membership Loyalty

The pilot ComSoc Membership Loyalty Program aims to reward members of our community who have participated in the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) over the last 1-2 years, depending on their member grade. 

For those that qualify, a discount code will apply offering US$120 off the total on purchases for IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM).

Who Qualifies for the ComSoc Membership Loyalty Program?

  • Active ComSoc Members for two or more consecutive calendar years (2023-2024) who have paid registration of at least US$1,000 at IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) registration cumulatively over the past 24 months.
  • Active ComSoc Student members for 12 months or more (2024 calendar year) who have paid registration of at least US$1,000 at IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) registration cumulatively over the past 24 months

Program Rules: 

  • Those who qualify for the ComSoc Membership Loyalty Program will receive one promotional code that will be validated against their IEEE Membership number. 
  • The one-time promotional code is non-transferable and valid for 24 months and can be used for a 1-time use for a US$120 deduction from any purchases related to the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) including but not limited to general registration, workshop or tutorial registration, banquet tickets, etc. 
  • IEEE ComSoc membership must be active at the time of use.
  • The one-time promotional code can be used in addition to the current ComSoc membership registration discount (US$40) offered during IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM).
  • The one-time promotional code can only be used for IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) and not for other IEEE conferences, workshops, or other events requiring paid registration.
  • The US$120 is in promotional value and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I qualify for the ComSoc Membership Loyalty Program?

In Q1 2025, an email will be sent to you if you qualify with your unique code to be used during your registration. Note: This code will be validated against your IEEE Membership number. 

How do I use the code I receive for the US$120 discount?

When you go to register for either the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) during checkout, copy the unique promotional code you received via email and put this into the “Discount Code” field during checkout. US$120 will automatically be deducted from your cart. 

I think I qualify for the program, but I did not receive a code. How do I get my code?

Please write an email to memberloyalty@comsoc.org. Please include your first and last name, IEEE Membership number and the email address associated with your IEEE Membership account and a note indicating you feel you qualify for the program. Our team will respond with your eligibility code to confirm if you qualify.

What happens if I spent the US$1,000 but my IEEE ComSoc Membership lapsed in the last two years?

We appreciate your interest in being a part of our community, but unfortunately due to the lapse you are not eligible for this program. We encourage you to update your membership and continue to receive the other great benefits from ComSoc!

I have spent more than US$1,000 on other ComSoc conferences, publications, training, and other programs. Why do I not qualify for the discount?

We thank you for your incredible engagement with IEEE ComSoc! This program is currently in its pilot phase and will use the money members spend on the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) at first. Other program spends may be considered in the future for eligibility in the program.

I cannot attend the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) in the next two years. Can I give my discount code to a colleague or student?

We’re sorry to hear you cannot join us for these events. At this time, the one-time promotional code is non-transferable and can only be used by you.

I was a student member who was elevated to member grade during year one. Am I still eligible during year two?

Yes! You qualified for the discount during the original time frame with your student member status and qualify under the student terms. In order to qualify for your membership discount as a higher grade member, you must maintain membership for two years and spend the US$1,000 on either IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM).

Can I use the discount code for other ComSoc and IEEE conferences aside from the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM)?

We’re thrilled about your interest in participating in our other conferences. Unfortunately, this code can only be used for IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM).

I’m not planning on attending IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) or the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM). Can you please send me the US$120?

Unfortunately, the promotion can only be used for the conference discount and cannot be redeemed for cash.
