About ComSoc

Introduction

The ComSoc ICT Ticketing System enables staff and volunteers to submit technical support requests for conference websites. At the start of the website project, web content editors will receive a welcome email from the ICT staff. Following this welcome email, they will receive an invitation to set up a Jira account, which they can use to submit support tickets.

The types of requests that staff and volunteers can make depend on the specific project and will be outlined in the welcome email and initial discussions with the ICT staff.

Utilizing the ticketing system ensures that all requests are received, tracked, and addressed efficiently.

 

Signing In

Please look out for a Jira invitation to create an account in Jira. Once you have created the account, you will be able to submit requests.


To submit a request, go to:

https://comsoc.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portals.

Sign in with your email address and password. If you would like to reset your password, contact Natasha Simonovski.

Making a Request

When signed into Jira, you will be directed to the IEEE ComSoc Help Center page. After signing in, click on the Conference Content Requests Portal.

You will need to select the request option that best matches your request type. Please note that some requests have specified requirements.

  1. Enter in a Subject and a Description for your request.  The subject should be short and simple - and does not need to include which website/project you're asking about. 
  2. Select the Conference and enter the Conference Year
  3. Enter the Website URL for the page that needs to be updated
  4. Attach any files that may be needed for your request
  5. Set a Due date if needed
  6. Click Send

Your request will be created and ICT staff members will be notified by email. You will be emailed when the ticket is updated or completed. You can reply to the ticket emails if you need to share any more information.

Please limit each ticket to a single request, or a small group of related requests. For example, if multiple corrections need to be made on the Committee page, that can be a single ticket. However, if content needs to be added across multiple pages please make a ticket for each page.
