2025 Member-at-Large - Latin America/North America Region Candidate
Position Statement
Now more than ever, CommSoc needs decisive re-affirmation of core principles: as inclusive GLOBAL platform for dialogue and leadership in all matters regarding Telecommunication Networking that is globally inclusive. Specifically needed are structural changes for re-balancing towards truly meaningful industry and future strategy/ policy community representation (beyond purely academic interests that presently dominate) and for increased transparency of leadership decisions and much better alignment with local society goals. If elected, I will singularly work towards infusion of new personnel with cross-over vision and global outlook/experience into leadership roles and empowering strategic change. I intend to a) initiate meaningful changes for better support of local chapters and engineering societies, b) define new CommSoc led 6G and beyond initiatives via collaboration with other societies (notably Computing) that is globally oriented, c) be an effective listener to community concerns by being constantly open/committed to ideas for new initiatives and their vigorous representation internally.
