IEEE ComSoc Training has an exciting announcement: a brand new course with an in-person option! On 1-3 October, ComSoc will launch the new course, “Zak-OTFS and Delay-Doppler Processing for Next-Gen Communications” with instructor Dr. Saif Khan Mohammed whose recent work has focused on pioneering a new modulation waveform Zak-OTFS for next generation communication and radar systems (high mobility/ubiquitous connectivity, integrated sensing and communication and AI enabled networks).
This course has two options for participation: in-person hosted at the University of Essex, Colchester, UK, and online which can be taken from anywhere in the world, The course timing is as follows:
Wednesday, 1 October, 10:30am - 4:00pm UK time (GMT+1) / 5:30 AM - 11:00 AM EDT
Thursday, 2 October, 10:30am - 4:30pm UK time (GMT+1) / 5:30 AM - 11:30 AM EDT
Friday, 3 October, 10:30am - 4:00pm UK time (GMT+1) / 5:30 AM - 11:00 AM EDT
As 6G networks face increasingly dynamic wireless environments, traditional methods like OFDM struggle with high Doppler and delay spreads, making reliable communication challenging. Zak-OTFS offers a breakthrough by embedding information in the delay-Doppler domain, enabling predictable channel behavior and minimal estimation overhead. This course introduces the foundational concepts of Zak-OTFS, including its applications in sensing, radar, and AI-driven wireless systems, with hands-on MATLAB exercises to deepen understanding.
Read the course description for full details on what’s covered in the course including an extensive outline of topics.
This intermediate-level course will explore different elements of Zak-OTFS and Delay-Doppler Processing, and what this means for the future of the technology. Total instruction time is 14 hours. Registration in this course includes a copy of the instructor’s slides, access to the streaming video recording of the course for a month after the live session, a certificate of participation, and optional 1.4 IEEE CEUs (continuing education units).
Save your seat today and “prepare yourself to lead the next revolution in communications and radar” with instructor Saif Khan Mohammed!
