The evolution towards 6G marks a transformative shift from traditional digital content to immersive experiential data streams, where advanced visual, audio, and interactive information seamlessly integrate into communication infrastructures. Leveraging terahertz frequencies, AI-driven adaptability, and ultra-fast data transmission, 6G enables real-time, high-fidelity streaming that supports experiential, intent-driven, and user-centric communication. Central to this transformation are multimodal intelligence systems, which fuse diverse data types —visual, auditory, tactile, and contextual —into unified information flows. This multimodal integration enhances context-awareness, adaptability, and quality of service, forming the foundation for applications such as holographic telepresence, immersive IoT ecosystems, and tactile internet services.
Multimodal and multi-agent systems collectively enable distributed intelligence, adaptive coordination, and autonomous decision-making through the integration of diverse data sources and collaborative edge agents. These agents interact with users and computing nodes to dynamically orchestrate resources, apply quantum-enabled federated learning for secure knowledge sharing, and utilize semantic communication to exchange meaning-rich information efficiently. By fusing multimodal inputs—such as visual, auditory, and contextual data—with coordinated multi-agent reasoning, these systems enhance reliability, energy efficiency, and trust. Together, they form intelligent and adaptive ecosystems that seamlessly blend digital and physical environments, transforming how data is perceived, processed, and experienced.
Therefore, this Special Issue invites original research, technical developments, and visionary solutions addressing the following topics, but not limited to:
- Multi-Agent system-based Emotional Intelligence (MAEI) for Secure AI Communication
- Resource Allocation in Cognitive 6G Systems
- Quantum-Accelerated Federated Intelligence for Ultra-Low Latency Edge-Based Multimodal Intelligence (MMI) integrated with neuromorphic computing
- Cross-Layer Design for multimodal communication and intelligent network control
- Zero-Latency Intelligence (ZLI) for a real-time Framework for Real-Time Holographic Communication and Ultra-HD Telepresence
- Digital Twins for intelligent network orchestration and predictive Communication Management
- Adaptive Multi-agent Resource Management (AMRM) for autonomous decision making
- Quality of Experience (QoE) driven user-agent loop control for reliable and adaptive 6G Communication networks.
- Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISC) Driven Adaptive Communication and Secure Interaction in 6G Consumer Electronics.
- Agentic Artificial Intelligence (Agentic AI) for Zero-touch service provisioning and self-managed 6G networks.
- Carbon emissions and computational efficiency in sustainable digital ecosystems.
