2025 Member-at-Large - Europe, Middle East, Africa Region Candidate
Position Statement
My involvement with ComSoc for many years (conferences, journals and executive committees) has been fuelled by my desire to give back to my community. Throughout those years, I’ve been committed to the mission of ComSoc, which centres around providing avenues for its members to flourish professionally. Among the areas that I thought might need some improvements were transparency, fairness, and providing equal opportunity to all. I’ve been a strong advocate for those aspects in whatever capacity I had. If elected, besides becoming the first member from the Middle East, I will continue to
- Promote transparent and fair policies for all levels of awards. (I’ve contributed to the new ComSoc awards policies to be implemented this year.)
- Promote giving junior members a chance to serve in leading roles. (I’ve done this at conferences and committees I’ve served on.)
- Promote mentorship and professional activities for graduate students. (To be implemented at PIMRC’25.)
