About ComSoc

Zhi Ding

2025 Member-at-Large - Latin America/North America Region Candidate

Position Statement

Greetings! ComSoc has been my academic home for 37 years, I have the deepest affection for fellow members like family members and pledge my utmost commitment to serving them, especially young and student members who are the future of COMSOC.  I thank you for your support to run as your grass-root candidate for Member-at-Large. If elected, I vow to promote:

  • Better service and value: I plan to expand reward programs for loyal COMSOC members to significantly reduce conference fees and membership dues. I initiated the first reward program to quadruple the ICC/Globecom discount for qualified COMSOC members and students in 2025.
  • Better decision transparency: COMSOC must minimize wasteful spending. I have led to reverse a proposed $500k infrastructure cost without clear membership benefits and will continue such effort.
  • Advancing global scientific collaboration against external interferences or pressure.
  • High publication quality:  advocating for excellent editors, reviewers, conference organizers, and authors.
